Dutch Design Leather, Est 2013

Wednesday already, wow time sure does fly. Yet another What’s On Your Workdesk wednesday over at Julia’s stamping ground, you can check out desks from all over the world. If you’re not familiar with this, you can go to her blog and she’ll explain it all to you.

There’s not much to see on my desk today, just a little chillin’ with my day journal, after posting my last video (here) for the summer of color.

My little black book with quotes on the left and one of my art journals on the right. Right on top of a really messy and in need of replacement drop sheet.

My day journal is just a little file folder mini junk journal and I slam all sorts of things into it. Things I encounter, things I want to keep, photographs, ephemera, random thoughts as well as daily journalling. When it’s full I’ll just make a new one and continue the chaos.

Here are a few close up shots of my messy mind.

A photo from Paris next to a label from anti musquito socks I bought for my son. I thought that was hilarious.

Some sticky notes on an acrylic sheet from packaging next to some random ephemera.

A sticker from Australia I got from my sister-in-law next to the label from the little australian koala stamp she brought me, which says “made in Korea”… Which, of course, cracked me up.

My two bears, flanking a gorilla statue.

And a photo from one of my cats. She passed away several years ago, but I just found this picture this week. So I stuck it in here.

Nothing special, just some random things. Specifically designed to declutter my mind.

Thank you for watching and I hope you have a wonderful week.

That book is a great idea – I have never thought of that ๐Ÿ˜€ Will you be using some of the stuff out of it to make journal pages etc. or does it all stay inside ?? ๐Ÿ˜€ (just being REALLY nosy now hahaha LoL)

Hi Monique, a couple of tips for getting all the bits out of intricate dies-first, cut out some shapes using waxed paper, it stops the bits sticking. Also you can rub over the die with a wax candle, or soap. Also, you know the sticky lint rollers for removing hair from clothes? They work great to pull all the bits out.Love the day journal idea. thats really cool. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #51 xx

  10. I love the random collection of things in your journal – what a great idea! You are such an inspiration. I have some bits and pieces which I should keep for future use in this way. I have been working on my wallet today so I can blog about it soon. The things you create have really started me on the road to creating books – after the wallet I intend to make my first hand-made art journal! Thanks so much for stopping by earlier. Julie Ann #55

What you have described as a day journal is a smash book to me, and I think they are the most fun, you get to keep all the stuff that attracts or appeals to you but wouldn't work in any other form of mini book! Annette #7

Marit #91
